Huh? 🤔

First time using the app. I spent genuine time and effort carefully vetting profiles, this is my home this is South Africa, I actually care about who enters my home. I wanted someone regular so finding someone I felt comfortable with mattered. Even if picking from a profile is already a big leap of faith. I was willing to try.

A few hours later I get an *** confirmation. Confirming a completely different profile I never chose. Why give me the choice and available profiles only hours later to pull the rug?

What an absurd experience. No courtesy update informing me on what had happened with my choice and why I got assigned a random person. Just a cheerful booking confirmed with someone I did not choose. That isn't just poor communication it's textbook dark UX pattern. And the best way to kill trust.

When I reached out to support, their response was a delightfully nonchalant; which basically boiled down to "Well, it's in our terms and conditions".

Ah of course. Silly old me. That explains it. The entire app flow and communication was designed by lawyers.

Good luck with that business model.
