Bad service from both the Sweepstar and Sweepsouth as a whole

Overall a bad experience I hired Sweepsouth for a full day 8:00-17:00, firstly the lady was an hour late, I then gave her a list of stuff that I wanted to be done, as well as asked her specifically not to do laundry after 12:00 to allow what was washed to dry. I also asked for dusting and sweeping, and to iron the curtains as well as washing dishes (50 sq m apartment), when I came to check at 13:00, she was doing laundry even though expressly asked not to, I then reminded her of the tasks I asked her to do, before leaving to go back to work. At 16:30 I received a call saying she was done and I need to let her out so she could get to her transport, when arriving home I saw a large pile of soaking wet clothes on my couch, the curtains had not been touched, dusting had not been done and the dishes that had been washed were still partially dirty. She insisted she needed to leave so I let her leave (Now with 1.5 hours I had paid for and not received). Later in the evening I also found that ~R1000 of assorted glass items had been broken and left in the back of a cupboard, and found a mat crumpled in a corner surrounded by dirt. Overall the service was shoddy and ended up costing me more than the actual cost of the clean to replace what was damaged. When I raised it with Sweepsouth they just told me that I can rate the person and over time they will be removed from the platform, and that was all they could do. The reason I paid for Sweepsouth as opposed to getting someone random off the street was so that I could assume some level of quality, however that is not the case. If you would like to be used as a Guinea *** for them to test out their employees yet pay full price, with them taking no responsibility, I would highly recommend them, otherwise it would be safer and cheaper to get someone off the street.

Hello Shay,

Thank you for your review.

This is extremely disappointing and we are shocked to read of your experience. We are terribly sorry that this has happened in your home.

As a platform that facilitates the connecting of clients to cleaners, rather than SweepSouth being an employer, legally, we are unable to provide training on cleaning as this would place us in the position of an employer-employee relationship. All SweepStars undergo on-boarding which provides them with knowledge on the SweepStar app and how to use their phone as their 'office'. We ensure that only the best SweepStars are on-boarded onto the platform, however, there may be instances where a SweepStars performance may be lacking and thus we have various ways that we monitor this.

We are so sorry your SweepStar was not careful with your belongings in your home, and that she had not followed your instructions that you trusted with her. We aim to provide ease and peace of mind when choosing to use the platform and understand that having your belongings damaged is already stressful enough. We are thus extremely sorry that we let you down in this regard and would like to ensure we resolve this for you.

We sincerely apologise once again for the disappointing service. When you have a moment, could you kindly send us your booking reference number or email address so that we may further investigate this matter for you.

SweepSouth.
