Worst ISP in SA. Literally paying them for nothing.

Let me start with the TL:DR... If you are looking for a reliable ISP then choose literally any other company.

My latest gripe with Supersonic (Yes, there has been many.. Don't forget this is just a rebranded "SmartVillage" with the same BS backed up by MTN), is that I have noticed my internet speeds were terribly slow. Pretty much getting 30mbps but paying for a 100mbps line and watching R899 be debited every month whilst getting ****py speeds.

Anyway, I utilise their ineffective support processes. I chat to a guy by the name of "Ofentse" who does said speed test and notices the same thing. he is in agreement and ends up logging an "expedited" ticket to the "technical" team. LOL.

Almost 2 weeks pass and my frustration grows as zero resolution takes place and not feedback provided. I call in this time and demand to speak to someone technical. After waiting for almost 10-15mins on hold a guy named "Velu" speaks to me... He is apparently the technical guy. He remotely accesses my desktop so that I can run a speed test for him via LAN. I do so and it shows 95mbps.... Cool. But this is my 5ghz connection and my other devices use 2.4ghz. The guy is adamant that I should only use 5ghz to get the line speed I pay for and I disagree numerous times because that is not true and you cannot force a customer to use a specific network band. When I had taken up the package I received 100mbps stable on my 2.4ghz line. This is a recent occurrence and Supersonic cannot justify what had changed. Most of my devices barely support 5ghz and I can guarantee the same is applicable for majority of the customer base. All-in-all this company is throttling behind the scenes for some odd reason. No explanation or evidence to support. You will not get what you pay. Velu still proceeds to close the ticket with zero resolution. That is pathetic customer service which has been the trend with Supersonic (Smartvillage) from Day 1.

So thank you once again, Supersonic. I pay you 100% monthly to get 30% from you.
