Supersonic 5G Service Dropped, and Won't Switch My Account to Fibre

Been a Supersonic customer on 5G for about 3 years with speeds often above 200Mbps daily, anytime of the day. Over the past 2 months, the speeds dropped to 10Mbps during the day until 11pm at night, after which it increases to a maximum of 50Mbps. I've tracked this daily since logging the ticket with Supersonic about the poor internet and it's very clear that there are restrictions in place on my account. At one point, the technician acknowledged there was an issue and took it up with the backend provider, MTN. After they couldn't resolve with MTN, they just closed my ticket. They closed the ticket 3 times, with me having to re-open it and have it escalated. Now, they're claiming there's nothing they can do and this is normal. Imagine paying 5G rates (R699 per month) for lower than 4G speeds and them saying it's normal.

Now, the fun part. After 2 months of back and forth, they stopped responding and providing updates. I called almost 2 weeks back asking the call centre to escalate the issue so I can have feedback. This was at the end of March. Now, nearly 2 weeks later, they call back suggesting I move over to fibre and they can put me through to a sales rep - to which I agree. However, the sales rep informs me I need to cancel the 5G package and apply for the fibre package. Seems reasonable, until they tell me that I can only cancel the 5G on 31 May - the next calendar month - and will be billed end of April. This means, if I do switch to fibre, I will be billed pro-rated, plus full next month, including 5G.

I asked them to cancel the 5G at the end of this month and switch me to the fibre, so I can be billed only once and continue as a subscriber. They state this cannot be done. I explain to the agent that I'm not going to reward a business that has failed to provide the services I paid for, gaslight me into it being "normal service quality" and then get paid twice while giving them a chance to fix the issue by switching to a different product. Supersonic will rather lose a customer than waive a single payment for a service that's not longer performing as expected and keep the customer happy.

Thanks for the 3 years of business, but if you're not going to manage this issue seriously, which has affected my business operations during working hours (for which I had to use my mobile data as backup), then I'm not willing to continue with you as a subscriber.
