Stay away from Supersonic ISP
I am very disgusted with Supersonic as a ISP. I moved into a house that had a fibre line already installed and requested my line I had with another ISP to be transferred over to my new address. My ISP struggled to get the transfer done as the line has not yet been released by Supersonic. I called Supersonic and the reason they are not releasing the line is due to the previous owner having an outstanding amount owing on the line. They are now making this my problem and I feel its very unfair towards me as I do not owe them any money, yet they wont release the line so that I can use the line. This just seems very unprofessional as I now need to sit without internet and getting penalised. I work mostly from home and not having internet and needing to utilise mobile data is a very expensive exercise. Seeing Supersonic is basically holding me hostage and not allowing me access to a fiber line that is already installed, maybe I should hold Supersonic liable for my cellphone bill.
I would not reccomend using Supersonic as a service provider as it seems they have no moral ethics.
Thank you for reaching out to Supersonic. I apologize for the frustration caused. Kindly be advised that I will be looking into this query and provide feedback.
Kind Regards,
LB

I have his contact details, but will not supply this as this will violate POPIA.
I can supply you the device serial number: ***A3
I can also spare you the efforts of calling the previous owner as I called Supersonic already with his details and I can confirm that the previous owner has an outstanding amount owing to Supersonic. The previous owner also does not have funds to pay Supersonic at this stage.
This means that until he pays Supersonic, I will not have access to any internet.
If Supersonic sees this as being fair and just business practice, then I am glad I am not with Supersonic as the business ethics are pathetic.
The issue is between Supersonic and the previous owner.
It is not between Supersonic and myself.
Why then must I get penalised?
Why am I being held ransom?
Why can Supersonic not release the line so that I can utilise this line and resolve the payment issue directly with the previous owner using the legal path?
So, let's look at the scenario if the previous owner takes another year to pay Supersonic, it means that I will not have access to use this line for the next year? In what world does this make any business sense and believe me, I will also be reporting this to Evotel.
Maybe I should also approach the small claims court and state my case against Supersonic to claim back all my data I needed to purchase due to the fact that I am unable to utilise a line that already exists as I am being held ransom and apparently I am being held liable for a line that the previous owner owes money's on.
