Out of pocket by R3 315,16 due to ********** Debit Orders on my Account by Supersonic
Supersonic is the most ********* and disorganised company I have ever encountered. I had considered changing ISP in January this year from MWEB to Supersonic. I am so happy now that I chose to stay with MWeb! Supersonic did send a technician to my flat, who said I needed to cancel my contract with MWeb and get MWeb to cancel the agreement with Octotel as my fibre provider, notify Supersonic once this was done, and then inform Supersonic so they could become my ISP. They requested my bank details as they said if I changed ISP to Supersonic they would bill me via debit order. I decided this was all too much admin, and having read terrible reviews about Supersonic on Hello Peter and elsewhere, combined with having been a satisfied MWeb customer since 1998, I decided to stay with MWeb. I never signed or entered into any agreement with Supersonic. Hence I was shocked when, on 1 March, Supersonic put a debit order on my account and **********ly took R2 120,16. I had to phone ABSA to stop and reverse this debit order, which ABSA quickly did. I immediately tried to phone Supersonic and also contacted them via their WhatsApp number to inform them of their "mistake". I had no luck there and they stopped correspondence with me. Thus, I emailed their billing department and have been in contact with Minnah Modisane since 10 March. She escalated my query to "Project Management" on 10 March to sort out my problem and said she'd get back to me. 2 weeks later and I had still not had feedback from Minnah. I emailed her again on the 25 March to enquire what was going on and what the status of my query was. NO RESPONSE. But, on 1 April, Supersonic AGAIN **********LY deducted R3 315,16 from my account. I again contacted ABSA, but due to the lockdown, it is difficult to stop this debit order and have the money returned to me immediately, as they were able to do before.
I have reported Supersonic's behaviour to ABSA as *****. I have had to send a written email request to *** is inconvenient and taking up my valuable time. Supersonic, I am disgusted by your lack of service, inefficiency, and lack of care. Due to the lockdown my salary has been severely affected, and I am now out of pocket by R3315,16 due to Supersonic's ********* behaviour. I would like an URGENT response to this query from Supersonic, as well as resolution of my problem. In the meantime, for those considering Supersonic as their ISP, my advice is to practice social distancing and STAY AWAY from them. There are far better and efficient ISPs out there. Supersonic can NOT be trusted.
Apologies for this. Your issue has been escalated and will be treated with the utmost urgency.
Regards,
Sandra

Yes, an agent did indeed contact me on the 3rd April (the day after my complaint on HelloPeter). I think the gentleman's name was Sahid. He was genuinely helpful, and explained what the problem may have been. Namely that the technician that visited my flat was supposed to resolve the case as "closed", but he never did so.
Sahid has said that he has arranged for a full refund of R3 315,16, which will be paid into my account, as well as putting a permanent stop on the debit order and marking my account as closed. He said this could take up to a week.
Although, I have not yet received the refund, Sahid was helpful, competent and concerned about the problem, and so I do have hope that the problem has been resolved and that the money will be deposited into my account in a day or two.
I will keep you updated via Hello Peter on if and when this occurs.
Thank you for looking into my problem so quickly and efficiently. I really do hope the matter has almost been resolved.
Kind regards
Rosemary
