My NIGHTMARE with Supersonic Continues!

Dear valued reader of this site.

Did you think that Telkom was the worst, most *********** ISP in this country?

Think again. The title for the worst, most *********** ISP in the country goes to Supersonic by a country mile. Allow me to enlighten you.

My nightmare with this company continued on the 7th of April 2021 when I called through to cancel my service with them (I signed up in October 2021). I spoke to an agent called Kumaran, who I had to explain the concept of "prepaid" vs "postpaid" to. After delivering that lecture in common sense, I was informed by Kumaran that I've fulfilled my obligation of staying with the company for 6 months, so there would be no "claw-back" fee app**** to me. (I was informed on my initial sales call that I had to stay with the company for 6 months to avoid a claw-back fee)

I cancelled on the 22nd of April and served my one months calendar notice with Supersonic. On the 31st of May, I receive a bill for June, with an extra R250 added on to it. I immediately called Supersonic to find out whats going on. I spoke to a agent called Mpilo, who advised me that the bill was sent to me in error and assured me that my account would not be debited. She also "escalated" this issue to a manager who was supposed to call me back, and never did. I also asked her to make arrangements with their couriers to collect this modem of theirs.

Today, the 8th of June, I receive an SMS stating that Supersonic has loaded a debit onto my account for the amount of R1248.99. I called their offices, waited on hold for 15 minutes and asked to speak to a manager. The wonderful agent that I spoke to is named Thuli, who went ahead and did the most polite gesture imaginable and cut the call on me. I call back immediately, speak to an agent whom I can't remember her name, and she informs me that the entire R1248.99 is the CLAW-BACK fee. In not my politest moment, I asked that a manager call me back immediately. I'm still waiting for that call.

I took some time to cool down, gather myself and called in again. I spoke to an agent called Nompendulo and she was very remorseful. We cleared things up, she assured me that I had been with the company for more than 6 months and that no claw-back fee should apply to me. She said that her manager, Shireen, would give me a call back the next day.

I was not going to write this mini-essay but low and behold, Supersonic have debited my account for R1248.99. There was insufficient funds in the account so poor old me will have to pay the penalty to my bank for a bouncing debit, which is why I'm sharing my experience with this horrible company, in the hope that I can save a few from making the worst mistake of your lives by signing up with Supersonic.

I still have their modem, sitting here in its box and nobody has come to collect it, even though I've requested on numerous occasions for them to send their couriers to collect it. My bank account has a bouncing debit, which my bank will charge me for, and Supersonic will not care.

Please do not sign up with this company. Thank you for taking the time out to read this long review.

Reviewer Update
Hi,

It's been a week and I've received no communication from anyone at your company regarding my complaint. Today a courier showed up at my house unannounced to collect the modem. I've given your company enough time to address my complaint. I'm going to submit complaints to ICASA and the relevant agencies tomorrow because that seems to be the only way to get anyone at your company to call me back.

Regards,

Kavi P.
