Month to month contract locking you in for 24 months - Is this legal?

After 12 months with Supersonic I cancelled my month to month subscription with them due to bad service. There were a number of service issues - too many to mention. Even though it is a month to month contract, which actually attracted me to them, I now have to pay a claw back contract which no one highlighted to me when I contacted them to cancel. All I was told was that I would have to give a month notice and pay for that month. Apparently it is in the T&Cs which I didn't see, but then my question is how can they advertise as a month to month contract if you have to stay 24 months with them? Where is the consumer protection act now?

So Supersonic don't only give you no service, but also take your money while doing it. I would never recommend them to anyone in my area and have already recommended two of my neighbours to change. I will continue to do this going forward. Maybe MTN should look into companies representing them.

Good day DK

My Supersonic Account number is S***.
Because I don't want to pay this claw back fee I have now canceled my application with the new ISP I was going to move to. But surprise surprise I can't get hold of your Accounts department to ask to continue with you and just move my line to another address. I have called 3 times and was 2nd in the queue for 20 minutes. This is exactly what I want to get away from. Please can you assist me? I can't believe I am locked in for 24 months with this kind of service.
