Avoid Supersonic Fibre (MTN) at all costs!

I would not recommend Supersonic Fibe (MTN) to anyone - not even my worst enemy. I was a customer of theirs from 2019 until late the end of 2022 when I had no choice but to cancel due to never-ending internet connection issues. My last communication with them was Jan/Feb 2023 when I had to pay R250 to send back their router. They ended up paying me back because my account had a credit balance. Fast forward to February 2024 - one whole year later - when I get a call from the ruthless VVM Debt Collectors who informed me that I owe Supersonic R1000 and something. What debt? I have no idea what they are talking about. After emailing ICASA and Supersonic confirming that my account is indeed in a credit balance, I then got a call from Supersonic saying that I actually I owe them R899 for one month in 2021 when I switched from Fibre to FLTE. Well, since October 2021 and my final communication in Jan/Feb 2023 - while I was still a customer nogal - supersonic DID NOT communicate a single thing about this outstanding debt. They just handed me over to VVM Debt Collectors with ZERO communication in February 2024. I then discovered that scores of people are having the same issue with Supersonic handing them over to debt collectors in 2024 long after closing their accounts with ZERO COMMUNICATION. Supersonic just decided to hand them all over to debt collectors with NOT A SINGLE CALL OR EMAIL. And these debt collectors are ruthless. You will have no choice but to pay them because Supersonic has already sold their old customers down the river. They literally do not care how their ********* behaviour affects you as the consumer. Sign up for Supersonic Fibre at your own risk!

Also, I am not sure why Hello Peter has censored the word ***************** in my second to last sentence even though I am pretty sure handing people over to debt collectors for debt from 2021 that Supersonic could have alerted you about until Jan/Feb 2023 but chose not to... is pretty much *****************.

I received your statement, and now I have another statement from VVM Debt Collectors along with an extra R104 receipt fee. Like, is Supersonic for real? So Supersonic did not tell me I owed R899 for one month in 2021 for more than a year- even though I was still a customer until the end of 2022 and still chatting to agents until January 2023 - then allowed me to close my account, even though there was that one month in 2021 that I apparently owed. Said nothing about it, and just handed me over to debt collectors in February 2024, now I must pay VVM Debt Collectors R104 extra on top of everything else. WOW. This is so shocking. Like I am stunned beyond words.
