Appalling service from SuperSonic Fibre

I have had issues with supersonic since day one. After signing up with Mitchell’s Fibre and supersonic in January I was told installation would happen within 7-14 days, I was excited as this would be the first time I’d have wifi in my home, 14 days passed and still my wifi was not connected, after a constant back and forth I was only able to connect in March. I accepted this and wrote it off to the amount of new people signing up and them being overloaded with work. The problems still persisted, throughout the first month and the months thereafter, my internet was slow, much slower than the 20Mb line I had purchased and despite making payment before the due date my internet would still get disconnected, EVERY MONTH, leading me to call in repeatedly, wasting airtime speaking to consultants who aren’t able to assist me due to whatever reason they conjured up during our interaction. This was especially stressful as I re**** on my connection to work from home during lockdown. This persisted for months when finally, this month, I decided to change my account to a debit order. I had started working and finally I had a reliable and stable enough income to switch to a debit order, a simple process I assumed. When I called in I was told to wait until my 28 day voucher ran out before switching to a debit order, this happed, like clockwork, Saturday at midnight, and first thing Sunday morning at 9am I called to have that debit order activated on my account, I spoke to one of their consultants and was told there was a slight problem that would be escalated and I will be called back the same day. I waited till 12pm before I called back so that I could follow up, as it is a bit frustrating waiting on a call when you have things to do and errands to run whilst having no idea when you’ll be contacted back, so I called in and was told again that it had been escalated and I would be called back. Hours passed, and nothing, at 8:30 PM I called again to find out what had happened and got a bull **** story about there being no managers available on the weekend to sign off on my switch, nevertheless I accepted as there was nothing else I could do about it, the consultant had told me that he would call me at 9 am the following morning, which is another inconvenience as I have work and cannot readily accept calls, but there was nothing else I could do but wait for the call, so I did, yet again, nothing, no call back. I called again at 2 pm Monday afternoon, during my lunch break and this time I was put through to customer service, and spoke to a consultant who seemed genuinely interested in helping me, after spending more than 40 minutes on the phone, she had said that her system was not working but assured me that by Tuesday morning my problem would be solved and I would be reconnected that same day. Hopeful, I pleaded that she fix my problem, and she had promised me that I would be called before 9 am Tuesday morning. This did not happen. This morning I waited for her call, but nothing, no calls, messages or emails. I decided to give them one more chance, on my 2pm lunch break I called for the 5th time in 3 days, I spoke to a consultant who didn’t seem to know what was happening either and kept referring to the “back office" and how they were working on my query, I asked to speak to a manager and after waiting a few minutes for that he told me that all the managers were in a meeting and there isn’t an available manager to attend to my query, I brushed this off, as I completely expected this from them. The consultant offered me a glimmer of hope. He had said that the debit order had been switched and all that needs to be done is for me to make the initial payment, I asked him how and he had said that he will be sending me a payment link, he also confirmed that once payment is made my wifi will be activated 30 mins to an hour thereafter. I waited on the line while he sent the payment link, first via SMS, which I did not receive, then via Email, which I did not receive as well. I told him this but he confirmed that he had sent it, I gave up at this point, knowing that no matter what I ask for and whoever I call, their hopeless consultants wouldn’t be able to solve my problem. I asked this consultant to follow up with me in an hour to check if I had received the payment links. Guess what? No call, no payment links, and no internet. After wasting valuable time, spending hundreds of rands in airtime , I am not a single step closer to having a connection. A connection that I need in my household not only for entertainment but for school and work. Had I been explained what the problem is or at least been called back I wouldn’t feel as disappointed and angry as I do now. By far THE WORST experience I have had with ANY service provider. To anyone thinking about using them, I say, don’t waste your time and money. I’ll be switching to a different ISP.
