No good on delivery promise

Wish there was 1 tenth of star! I ordered the night and requested special delivery for the next day.(I paid extra for this) The items are meant for birthday gifts. I waited the entire day and the tracking status said it would be delivered by 7pm! I suppose I should receive it at the birthday party! At 5.15pm still no delivery and no contact number for anyone and a message that reads can not deliver!! Why do these online platforms promise next day delivery and provide no correspondence!! Guess I will have to improvise at the 11th hour to get some droopy flowers from a garage!!
