Killer Shirts on the move...
Last week, on Tuesday 3rd of September I was travelling home from Kirkwood in the direction of Uitenhage on the R75. About halfway between Kirkwood and Uitenhage I noticed a Ford delivery van coming onto my tail at a high rate of speed. The road was very busy that day with trucks heading to the harbour from the citrus packouses in Kirkwood. This was at about 5pm in the afternoon with lots and lots of people also making their daily commute home. This particular stretch of road is very dangerous and travelling it, and knowing it all my life, I have seen many wreaths and crosses posted on the fences along it, as people have lost their lives due to bad drivers. And as fate would have it, the in the exact same spot the latest fatal accident occurred about 2 months ago, this delivery van decided to pass me and the truck ahead of me on a double line, at a very high rate of speed with a blind rise ahead. I was behind the truck, next in line to pass when the road was clear, keeping a safe distance but not so that someone with a normal car, let alone a truck or van of the size of this superbalist vehicle could fit between us. And as could be imagined, a vehicle appeared over the blind rise as he pulled up right next to me, gunning it for all its worth on this narrow little road, on the worst possible stretch of it! The vehicle behind was attempting something similar but saw the problem early on and fell in close behind me, which left me stuck behind atrch with someone on my tail and the superbalist truck to my right. Then the superbalist truck proceeded to start pushing me off the road to get out of the way of his bad decision, hurtling towards him in the oncoming lane. My left wheels, had left the road and I had to really stand on my brakes when I managed to save the vehicle from flipping, to be able to avoid him hitting me and to make space for him to fit between me and the truck. When I stopped at home I decided to immediately contact Superbalist.com, but it was already after hours so I sent a mail shortly explaining what happened and asking a manager to contact me. I received a very short little mail asking me for a plate number and a watered down "sorry for the inconvenience caused"! It certainly would have been an inconvenience if my children had to grow up without a father because of superbalist.com employees that have no regard for other peoples lives, and the ones in charge who do not care to sort these things out. I rep**** to the mail with a picture I took of the van showing the number plate and the useless 100km/h designation on the back, showing the max speed he is allowed to travel, which he wasnt doing on that particular day. Also asked them to phone me so I could explain everything to them in detail, so they could take action and avoid something bad happening in the future to an innocent person because of their employee drivers. I am writing this review today, because I gave them a fair chance to sort this mess out in a responsible and ethical manner, which they have decided not to do. I have yet to be contacted telephonically by any senior person and I have not received any more correspondence from them at all. Superbalist.com in my experience, do not care about people or how their business activities affect the people they mean to sell their products to. Careful of your next purchase people, that shirt might cost someone on their way home to their children, their life!
