Good day,

I hope this finds you well. I am mortified with disbelief as I write this to you and so should the staff at Sunshine cash 'n carry be! ( Roodepoort) I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of concern and dissatisfaction. I had truly hoped that this would be resolved amicably by the store but to my amu*****t I haven’t heard anything from the store from the time I went there until now. Especially after going to the store in person to address the issue at hand.

My mother and son were at the store on 21/02/2025 to do the monthly groceries as per usual. Upon my son realising that the trolley they picked wasn’t moving smoothly ( nothing new there ) he decided to go out and change the trolley. Now as he was about to exit the store he was manhandled by a staff member ( Kenneth ) and accused my son of *****ing ( shoplifting ) and instead of him asking or searching my son as he should, instead he decided to hit my son until he fell to the ground. The sad part about this is that nothing was found on my son. He hadn't ****** anything! It's disheartening that we encountered this as my mom does her monthly groceries in this particular store. Every month without fail. I spoke to Lulama and I was met by her when I went into the store on 01/03/2025 and Kenneth couldn’t make it. I was promised that Kenneth and Andre ( store manager I believe ) would call me. Kenneth did however call but I haven’t heard anything from Andre or anyone in management to date and all has been silent.

I am really disappointed in how this matter is handled and more disappointed in the lack of communication from all management especially after all the effort I made to go to the store. It's really frustrating and I strongly believe if we were not people of colour this issue would’ve been attended to with the highest urgency and my son wouldn’t have been treated like an animal. May I get resolution on this please. I am just not happy with how this has been dealt with.
