Worst disaster ever negligence - NEVER AGAIN

Not only did Stuttafords take more than 6 months to sort out a groupage container, they also neglected to produce CITES import permits (which I had taken the time and money to apply for) to the UK Customs on entry to the UK. Result, UK Border Force have confiscated my antique piano and turned down a request for restitution as essentially the law has been broken. Why?? because Stuttafords and their UK agents were too *********** to communicate the need for the CITES permit to be produced on entry. Also be very careful of their insurance arrangements as the fine print states that there is only a week to inform them of a possible claim. Unprofessional and negligent!!

Hello Celia Botha,

A very good day to you!

Imagine my personal disappointment and dismay at reading your complaint on this forum.

I am deeply saddened by your comment about the incompetence, unprofessionalism and negligence...

After a very brief investigation, I had established that we duly app**** for and was granted your Export CITES certificate, which was subsequently sent to our overseas partners by courier.

This Original document was then mailed internally from one branch to the branch handling the Customs clearance and regrettably, due to the Christmas season, lost by HRM Post Office...

Surely we could not possibly be held accountable for this loss? However, we did all we could to re-apply, obtain and once again courier the same document across to the UK with more success this time 'round.

Regrettably, we were NOT in possession of the Original IMPORT CITES permit, despite your insistence and this caused endless delays and ultimately the confiscation.

With all due respect, it turned out that on 18 January 2015, you acknowledged that you had in fact been in possession of the Original Import CITES permit...

Please let me know how we could better have served you.

With best regards,

Mel
