Wet and not Wild
My shipment arrived from the uk on the 15th of October 2014 at about 10:30am.
To my horror the floor of the delivery vehicle was was soaking wet, 6 of the
boxes were very wet and have caused water damaged some of the contents! All of
which contained my of my LP record collection. Due to the boxes being waterlogged a vast majorities of the record sleeves or covers were damaged.
It is almost impossible to count the cost of this, as these are very
valuable an theses day are irreplaceable.
I am in total shock that this could have happened such a reputable firm such
as Stuttafords. I received an apology from Johan van Der westhuzen saying that he look into the matter.
After sending photos of the damaged boxed and damaged record covers. It took me sending another 5 emails and 5 Months! to finally got an answer, they said that since I did not take insurance with the UK shipping company they is nothing they can do!
Stuttafords may as well have delivered,my belongings in the back of an open Bakkie!
I presume that they must be negligent as they have not take reasonable action to look after my belongings in transit.
A very good day to you!
You may imagine dismay and personal disappointment at reading the content of your message.
Please allow me to enquire from Jonathan whether your valued possessions were in fact delivered directly from the shipping container or one of our vehicles.
The reason for this important question is that we take great pride in our vehicles to meticulously maintain them to carry our valuable customers belongings without fear of water damage or mechanical failure.
To this end, we have a workshop on site and it is our standard procedure to regularly inspect our vehicles for any defects and immediately repair any such defect discovered.
On the other hand, had your goods been delivered in the original shipping container, we regret we have no control over the condition of such a container.
I shall revert back to you without delay
In the meanwhile, I sincerely and humbly apologise if you feel that we have let you down or been negligent in any way.
With best regards,
