Stuttafords van lines WARNING!

I moved from Cape Town, South Africa to Europe. It has been nothing short of a disaster with my move taking more than 6 months to complete by the company in question.

I was asked for documentation which eventually turned out not to be required which included statements from the Embassy in Europe.

This company who claims to have excellent service and professional staff has been a disappointment beyond believe. The agents which they used in Europe was as confused as I was throughout this endeavor.

Please be warned that this company claims to be the best in the business but has demonstrated to be far from this. I can without a doubt say that I will never use nor recommend their services or rather the lack of it to anyone. The delay caused a tax fine of €1700 of which Stuttafords refuse to accept responsibility.

You're scathing comments about your shipment to Europe is of grave concern to me and I intend to fully investigate this matter in order to establish exactly what transpired here that would leave you so negatively disposed towards your dealings with us...

I beg your indulgence whilst I obtain the necessary facts about this matter.

We are exceedingly proud of the reputation that we have established for service excellence and I therefore cannot understand how we would have caused you such unhappiness.

Dear Mrs Potgieter I trust you are well. I appreciate your reply and comments. Please note that I have contacted the GM of every branch to seek an explanation but no reply from anyone of the Stuttafords branches. Cape Town and Johannesburg staff is a dead end. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of professionalism and poor guidance regarding procedures and legislative matters. My complaints have been met with complete silence or excuses of blaming the agent in Europe. The financial implications and time delays have been excessive to say the least and I expected much more from a company who advertise to be the best. Once again I appreciate your feedback. More than what I can say about your top management, Veronica (Jhsb) or the Cape Town staff.

I have had an urgent meeting with Veronica and her manager about your consignment and the details relating thereto and will send you a personal mail here after.

I do not believe in making excuses and shall not offend you by offering you any, but upon investigating this matter, there seems to be valid reasons for delays experienced, which to my understanding were completely beyond our control and NOT of our making either.

I trust that upon receipt of my mail you may feel better disposed towards your opinion of our company and the service you have received.

Your email is a patronizing attempt to resolve this and shift the blame somewhere else. I have kept all correspondence and those of the agent which you nominated. There is no excuse which can justify a 6 month period to send my shipment to Europe. This should have been completed within 3 weeks. Stuttafords remains the worse decision of my life in choosing a removal company. All your were able to do is consolidate the complaints on this website and many other.

Dear JohnWayne787,

It certainly was not my intention to patronise you. I merely tried to explain to you that Spain is a "Green Light" country, for which we would await confirmation from our overseas partners before we are able to despatch your container, which we did immediately once your documents were in place.

Obviously, the late amendment in final destination did not help matters, as the additional trans-shipment also brought about delays.

It remains for me to wish you all the joy and happiness in Spain
