Stattefords van Lines refuses to pay claims
I recently used SVL to move my furniture from Thabazimbi to Herm****. I insured my removal with them. When they unloaded the content at Herm****, they claimed to have off loaded everything since they have ticked everything on their inventory list. Yet I missed a table already which was ticked off as being delivered already. Three days later I received my table and another box containing my belongings, yet that box was ticked off as well as being delivered previously. Thus I refused to sign that I received all my goods. when unpacking and checking I became aware that one of my boxes containing linen was not off loaded as I also kept my own inventory of the boxes. I registered a claim and now the refuse to pay out stating that I signed for \Receiving all goods"which I did not """

It is quite disheartening to learn of your recent experience with the insurance company.
What concerns me more though, is the reason for you to claim in the first place. I assure you that this matter will be dealt with by me personally, with the utmost gravity it deserves in reprimanding the member for not following our company procedures.
We go to great lengths to train our staff, and his training clearly taught him that each item of furniture is to be carefully checked off the inventory list, after having been called out by the porter. Not only is the number to be called out, but the item to be inspected and the condition thereof specifically noted.
I sincerely and humbly apologise for our crew not following this procedure and for placing you in this unhappy position.
