Outstanding Insurance Claim
I Immigrated to New Zealand end of November 2014. My goods were packed up by a so called reputable company. My shipment was delivered 30 December 2014. My lounge suite, two Queen Anne chairs, two electric recliners, a king size board for my bed were badly damaged. Smashed and water damage. I submitted the claim and instead of an assessor coming round to check I was asked for photos of damaged goods. Time passed and I was then told they needed a quotation from a reputable person to repair the damage. NZ does not work that way. I was then told to get a quote for someone to collect damaged items so that they could pay for the items to be collected. This system does not work here. I eventually found someone to come and assess some of the items and emailed it to insurers. I am not able to get someone to come out for wooden pieces which have water damage and is clearly visible in the photos. The restorer quoted for repairs but has not include reupholstering of damaged fabric. No one is taking responsibility so in the meantime I'm in a foreign country with damaged furniture and sleeping on a mouldy bed board. This service is not acceptable. Needs to be rectified immediately and paid out.
