Missing items, probably theft at origin of packing

Initial dealing with Stuttaford Van Lines was very good. The person that gave the quote was friendly and helpful. Some of the other people we dealt with afterwards was not so quick to respond.

Day of the packing went fine. I would say 95% of packing was OK. Two glas items broke and the reason was that the boxes these items were in, were not opened and stuff re-packed properly - the boxes were put into Stuttaford boxes as is.

Marking of what is inside the boxes, was not always very clear. Many boxes were labeled as "Ornaments" while there were no ornaments to be packed. But that is fine. As long as everything arrives on the other side, ot so you would think. All the boxes that was on the shipping list arrived, so nothing appeared to be missing.

Now for the sad and upsetting part. About 6 months after the stuff arrived, we managed to pack out all the boxes. And that is where we discovered the nasty stuff. A bunch of things that we know were packed, did not arrive at our destination. Please note that I mentioned before all items on the shipping list arrived..... But all items did not arrive. The only conclusion we can come to, is that a box or two was deliberately not marked and "disappeared" between the loading place and the storage place. We suspect more stuff are missing and we will probably realize that when we want to use something specific. And the stuff that is missing are not necessarily a whole set of something, but individual items from a set of stuff.

Below follows the list of stuff that we so far know is missing: 1. Cooling racks for bakes stuff. And these were no ordinary cooling racks. 2. Old fashioned glass bowl with lid, stil very new 3. Underwear 4. Six plates and 6 glasses of a dinnerware set - plates were still in their original packaging 5. Big square measuring cup 6. Crochet table covers 7. Set of steak knives in their own case 8. Stainless steel colander 9. Blue utensil container 10. 11 of 12 desert bowls from another dinnerware set. And these we definitely know was complete 11. One black three legged pot

There might be more items as we discover something we want to use is gone.

So that was the nasty part of the experience. Thus the low rating. Having one's stuff go missing is not acceptable and of course Stuttaford Van Lines just shake their shoulders and don't give a damn.
