This company is a *******:

This company is a *******: For the past year my complex has been using them, I’ve been spending around R600(which I still think is a lot) a month because I stay alone and don’t use too much electricity. But since last month it literally went from R300 every 2 weeks to R300 a week a week and now I’m spending 1200 a month and when I asked them about it they first told me that my account was in arrears for months and they don’t know how the electricity didn’t cut off, when I proved to them that this was not the case as I was always paying my account, and ask them to send my statement, they then changed the story and said there were records deleted by mistake by their IT and that’s how I got into arrears, when I queried this they basically told me there is nothing they can do about it as there meter readings are correct and if I don’t pay they will simple cut of the electricity. They are such *******s and they know very well there is not much we can do about it cos we need electricity. If I had a choice I would NEVER USE THEM!!

Thank you for contacting STss.  According to our records, the Team contacted you on 28 July 2021 and explained the matter in detail. One of our Team Members contact you today to assist in clarifying the matter.  In Summary, the proof of payment was allocated twice and was corrected when the duplicate allocation was detected.  Regarding the higher than expected electricity usage over the past month, this can be due to the colder weather and the darker days, resulting in heaters being used and lights being turned on earlier in the day. You can also perform a few checks yourself. Faulty appliances / devices can also result in higher electricity consumption. Turn off and unplug your various appliances, lamps, charges, etc. Check if the meter is showing usage. Plug in and turn on each appliance and check if there is a higher than expected usage noted on the Meter / Wallet App. If you determine that there are no faulty appliances / devices, please contact the Estate Manager for assistance with checking the installed meter to determine if the meter is faulty.
