Hello Praki,

Kindly note that STss Prepaid does not sell electricity and do not set the costs of electricity. We are employed by your Body Corporate to assist in the recovery of electricity charged to your complex. Please also bear in mind that Council increased the cost of electricity on 1 July 2015 by 12.69% and that STss Prepaid is not responsible for the increase.

Your statement relating to the increase of your spending from R1000 per month to R3 200 is misleading and incorrect. Your usage and costs for the past three months is as follows:
In June the rate was R1.73 and you requested tokens for R1378, which gave you 796 KwH.
In July the rate was increased by the council and is now R1.95. You requested tokens to the value of R1 434, which gave you 735 KwH.
So far in August you requested tokens for R597 which is 306 KwH.

The Trustees of your complex have determined the current rate to be R1.95 per KwH. Therefore for R100 you will get 51.29KwH. The cost per kWh includes various other costs: VAT, an environmental fee, a rural subsidy, etc, all of which are charged to your complex by Council and which must be recovered from all residents in the complex.
