After we got the notification that prepaid meter will get an upgrade.I then puchased a R300 voucher which STSS says they can't refund,so strange as to what happened to my R300 why can't I get a refund or be issued with another voucher!

21 May 2024, 16:11The reason the token cannot be used after the upgrade is due to the fact that the STS 1 token was purchased before the Meter Roll Over / Upgrade and was not keyed into the meter before the Roll Over to STS 2.
As stated on both the STss Flyer and Upgrade Website all unused tokens are to be inserted before the Upgrade process is started, and cannot be refunded if not keyed in.
We understand your frustration, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. It is important to follow the instructions provided on the upgrade flyer and website to ensure a successful upgrade process. It was clearly stated that any tokens purchased prior to the upgrade be entered into the meter before the upgrade is done.
Unfortunately, once the upgrade has been completed, it's not possible to insert a STS 1 token after the upgrade. The upgrade of the meter is permanent and cannot be reversed. This is a global upgrade and the conditions of the upgrade are provided by the STS association and not by our company.
