High exploitation rates
I could give a zero rating, how does R300 become turn into 115 units complete exploitation, we recently were forced to install these prepaid meters in Stonebrook by our property manager Renprop. We are being ********** with these rates, judging from the comments Stss is the problem people have the same rating issue regardless of the area City or town, I am reporting this to the consumer competition commission to investigate pricing and consumer protection, because it’s not on.

24 Jul 2020, 12:04Thank you for contacting STss Prepaid Metering. STss does not buy and sell electricity. We recover consumption on behalf of a Body Corporate and have packaged a deal for Bodies Corporate via their managing agents to help manage the process of electricity consumption recovery effectively, through the installation of prepaid meters. The STss Prepaid Electricity Solution facilitates the collection of electricity funds from individual residents. STss Prepaid minimises the possibility of escalating electricity costs impacting on essential complex funds where they might under- recover and would therefore not able to pay the Eskom/council account, resulting in electricity being switched off for the whole Scheme. Trustees determine the prepaid recovery tariffs per kWh, based on the average total cost of the building’s council/Eskom account. STss can only advise in terms of the recovery rate but the final decision rests with the Board of Trustees. The Body Corporate remains responsible for the common property consumption payments, a normal budget item. Hopefully the above will assist in answering your questions related to the recovery rate. For more information you can contact our 24- hour Call Centre.
