Electricity Rip-off
Is there any regulation governing what the prepaid companies can charge for electricity? STss - has increased our electricity 3 times since January 2021 !!! Is this allowed ??? January 2021 - increased from R1,87 to R2,43 per kwh April 2021 - increased from R2,43 to R2,54 per kwh April 2021 - increased from R2,54 to R2,79 per kwh
All of this was done WITHOUT any notice from STss or the Managing Agents - Inspired Management Company.

STss does not buy and sell electricity. The Trustees determine the prepaid recovery tariffs per kWh, based on the average total cost of the Scheme’s council/ Eskom account.
We recover consumption on behalf of a Body Corporate and have packaged a deal for Bodies Corporate via their Managing Agents, to help manage the process of electricity consumption recovery effectively from individual units, through the installation of prepaid meters
STss Prepaid minimises the possibility of escalating electricity costs impacting on essential complex funds, where they might under recover and therefore not able to pay the Eskom/ council account, resulting in electricity being disconnected for the whole Scheme.
The Body Corporate remains responsible for the common property consumption payments, a normal budget item.
