Refusal to Exchange Goods

I bought 15 threaded bars, washers, nuts and a hacksaw blade from Stewarts & Lloyds last week Friday. On Sunday my car was broken into and the *****s stole the plastic which had the washers, nuts, hacksaw blade and invoices. Today I called them trying to exchange the threaded bar since I someone has donated nuts that are 10 mm wide as opposed to the 12mm thread bar I bought.

I had fortunately taken pictures of all invoices for my record I had hoped that since I have that it should be easy to exchange the bars for a 10mm size. By the way the invoice system they use is a triplicate system. I only took one page and they remained with two. I called the store to check if they can assist with the exchange and the manager and sales person told me they can't help me since I only have a picture of the invoice and not the original. If I want assistance I am expected to bring the original copy they gave me, I tried to explain that it was taken with the goods that were ****** but the response I received is an emphatic no and that policy can not be changed for me. I went on to offer to email them the picture I have of the invoice but I was told that won't be acceptable as proof of purchase.

As a parting short I asked the manager is he is willing to loose a customer over such a simple case in my view and his response was unfortunately I can't help this is not my store I am just an employee.
