incorrect pricing

Hello Peter ,well my wife's birthday was on the 23 th August which was this pass Friday and with that decided to spoil her and all she wanted as a special gift was a pair of loop earing, whilst shopping the gateway way centre on the evening of the 23rd cause I wanted to suprise her over dinner with my daughters , went to the different jewellery stores checking for these earing and went into sterns gateway , consultant by the name of malleable approach all good and I explain what I was looking for I look at two pairs of earing and decided I would like to purchase the earing priced at R799 which we'll displayed. The consultant was taking the earing out and to her knowledge states that this is not the correct pricing of the earing which was sitting in the cabinet which was clearly visual to a customer, according to the consultant the extra price Number had fallen of which myself and daughter did not see anywhere on the display. The manager was approached to utilised her descresion of she decline me from purchasing the earing at 799. I have been a manager before in the retail industry for many years and as a manager the customer comes first. The decision after speaking to the Area manager Jeshika who interpreted the consumer act as per her terms and declined me from the purchase price of 799. Please hello Peter I am still very interested in purchasing those earing and at the 799 price as I have also did investigate exactly what the costumer act states is that the price the customer sees is what the customer pays .please advise
