False discount prices on in store displays.

I went to Sterns East Rand Mall to buy a watch for my wife. The watches on display were marked down from around R2000 to about R1000. I selected a watch that was R2000 and marked to R1000. Thesales ladu took it to the counter and returned and told me it was not on sale. I selected a second watch that was marked from R2000 to R989. She again returned and said it was not on special. I asked whether any of the watches were on special. She said NO????? What a farce!!!! I really thought Sterns was a reputable company.
