Worse moments at their worst

My experience with Ster-Kinekor took place at Kolonnade.

So I am completely tired of Ster-Kinekor and its staff. The whole experience began when we booked our seats at one of the self-service kiosks. The first one we tried to use was completely frozen, so we decided to move on to another self-service kiosk. This one was working perfectly, or so we hoped. A while before the show we went to order our snacks (which in my opinion is ridiculously expensive for what you receive). We saw the card payment area was out of order even before one of the employees came to us and told us to stand in the cash payment area's line, which created a long line to begin with. All I want to say, is that the service we received at the counter was pathetic when looking at the attitude of the employee as well as our payment being done on another computer than the one we were helped at, and yes this causes a feeling of anger between the two customers as we were bringing their transaction's process to a halt. While paying for the snacks we saw that the card payment area was once again back in business.

Finally we settle in our seats as the show is about to start (the trailers of all the other movies played in the meantime). We encountered a situation where our seats were double booked with another lady's booking at we gladly resolved the problem between each other, so we thought. The next moment we see the manager (the guy collecting the tickets at the door of the movie) standing next to us and enquiring our tickets. The manager told the lady that this was in fact our seats and that they could just sit at the back.

Five minutes onwards we saw another family being moved to another seat after they have been moved to the previous place. This was in fact due to their booking also being done at our seats. The lady, very angry, came to us and called out that we were in their seats and that we should move. I stopped her by showing our movie ticket as well as by telling her that they were not the only family being booked on these seats. The lady that was sitting at the back obviously had a lot to say about the newly encountered situation.

This was in fact one of the WORST experiences I have had in a long time. Other than the snacks being expensive, the employees not being friendly and all the trouble we have to go through while waiting for the movie to begin I would like to say that Ster-Kinekor is the WORST cinema to be watching a movie at. I will gladly wait a few weeks for the movie to come out on Box Office at the comfort of my own home at a fraction of the price and without all the hassle.

My experience is therefore not only based on the past weekend's experience but also what I have encountered at previous Ster-Kinekor cinemas.

My conclusion would be to have a look at your operations as well as your system. Your system is out of date as the mapping of the cinema's seats are sometimes different than the physical seat's layout. I would also have a look at my database management system as it violates concurrency control as well as the ACID principles - if you don't know what that all means go look it up! I'm sure that you guys can use a facility called the World Wide Web!! Well one can only hope.
