Will never do movies again
Not sure to who this must be routed but decided to take my daughter to the movies as we haven’t been for some time but again it was confirmed that it is a waste of my time and even worse my money because the service is terrible!!!!
It all started where we stood in the queue to purchase tickets but then realised that so much had changed since we last went to the movies. I was then approached by a lady that advised I purchase ticket and food via the self-service machine but I told her that I had never used these machines before so I would hope that she would assist me accordingly but never did. She saw I booked a 3D movie but didn’t even bother checking or asking if we required glasses so I never got glasses, I then said we would like popcorn, slush and sweets and showed me how to buy it one by one and upon going to collect my eats I was asked by another lady behind the counter why didn’t I purchase combos as it would have been much cheaper so I responded saying because that lady didn’t advise me different…. My daughter and I then took our eats and navigated ourselves to the queue to get into the movie house and still I was not asked if I needed or had 3D glasses, went and found our seats. As the movie started and I realised that this is a 3D movie I had to leave my daughter(7years old) alone in the movie to go purchase glasses as I wasn’t assisted from the beginning, I go out and see queues upon queue, approach a lady and asked where I could purchase glasses and where could I collect them, she pointed to the self service machines and said I would have to fall in the queue to collect then by then I had completely lost my cool and also worried if my daughter was fine one her own. I told her that I was not going to stand in the queue again as no one advised me or assisted me with glasses when I made my original purchase so her response was that she will surely have to get them for me which I feel is not professional at all!!! I went to the self service machine and had to figure it out myself and once I got back to where the lady was I found no one so a cleaner asked if she could help and go me the glasses.
It is very sad that I had to almost spend R500 for just myself and my daughter to get the basics for a movie and then to have the poor service I got from employees and that a cleaner was more competent to help me with less effort. Can you imagine if it was an elderly person that has no technology experience or knowledge on how they could have struggled and what their experience would be. And to put the cherry on it all I had leave my daughter all on her own to get glasses which was a risk I had to take for *********** people!!!!
After the movie was finished my daughter said to me we wont be doing this again as it was horrible!!!
Now I know why I rather get dvd’s and watch movies at home because I don’t have to struggle to the degree I had to this weekend, very very disappointed and wont recommend this to no one!!!
