Who has a plastic pipe in a movie theatre??

Tried to watch Puss n Boots with our kids today, in the kids cinema. It has a play pipe running from the top to the bottom. The sound of the kids running up and down that pipe is **********. It is so hollow, you hear every word and bump. The least you could do is insulate the pipe so that normal movie goers like us could at least hear what's going on in the movie?
