Ticketing for minors

I live in Paarl and tavelled about 40 km to Cape Gate to take my family of 4 children out. I bought tickets for a movie, which at the time of booking was informed has a PG rating. I have a 7 year old child with me who was present at the time. I infomred the ticket seller and was told it was OK. tjhis was about 3:30pm on Saturday 13 June. The show was for 17h45.
I had to do a lot of arrangements and juggling of activitied to fit this in.
When we arrived to see the show, I was duely informed that my child of 7yrs could not attend due to 10-13 yr age limit. As we are a family, I had to cancell the show and asked for a refund of the tickets.
I do not have an issue with the age limit restriction, but have a massive problem with the fact that the tickets were sold to me in the first place. I would have made alternative arrangements. My kids were disapointed and it has massive impact on my word as a father to them.
My travelling costs were also not taken into consideration when the refund was taken - All I got was \I am sorry".
My whole Saturday was thus spoilt due to your staff making wrong decsions.
