STER KINEKOR - WHAT A RIP-OFF!

<p>A friend and I decided to watch the newly released movie LION today (20/01/2017). </p> <p>After checking onine for showtimes we pitched for the 09:15 screening at Ster Kinekor Cresta - in case you are wondering, no I did not see the need to use the Ster Kinekor app just to get movie times!</p> <p>We are not fans of Ster Kinekor 'PRESTIGE' so we tried to purchase the regular R70 ticket but were told by a staff member that the movie was only available at the R130 Prestige rate. </p> <p>We were disgusted to learn that Ster Kinekor rips patrons off by forcing them to pay Prestige rates for new releases.</p> <p>What happens to people who are on a budget or like me are just not interested in the Prestige option?</p> <p>Why do the showtime listing not state that it is only being screened at Prestige? Spell it out, don't expect us to decifer your acronyms or codes! We would not have wasted time, energy and fuel going to Ster Kinekor if this was clearly highlighted online.</p> <p>Don't you think you need to inform patrons that your new releases are exclusive to Prestige so that they can make an informed choice BEFORE they pitch at your cinemas? </p> <p>We spoke to the Manager at Ster Kinekor Cresta who was totally unhelpful and told us that if we wanted to see this particular movie then we have to pay the higher rate or choose another movie. </p> <p>We left Cresta and went to Hyde Park where we watched LION at NU METRO's VIP cinema instead and their customer service was excellent and the theatre experience was outstanding - price of ticket with my loyalty card R75!</p> <p>I already started informing everyone I connect with of the disgusting greediness of Ster Kinekor and am actively encouraging them to join me in voicing their concerns too.</p> <p>In the current economic climate movie theatres should be supporting and enabling patrons, not ripping them off!!!</p> <p>Thank heavens we have alternative cinemas like NU METRO & CINECENTRE to turn to or Ster Kinekor, with their greedy tactics and poor service levels, will ensure the demise of the S.A. movie-going culture. </p> <p> </p>
