Refused entrance
Today was the first day that we were turned away at a theatre. I booked tickets at Cape Gate 3D Imax for Insurgent.

We decided to kick the holiday by watching this movie. My eldest and his friend are 13 and the my younger child 8. We watched the Divergent DVD over the week end and both my children enjoyed it. Even though the age restriction is 13, I was happy that the 8 year old could watch it.

We bought the tickets on line, after we bought refreshments at the theatre we just had to get our 3 D Imax glasses. The acting manager decided that we could not watch the movie because my youngest child is to young. Unfortunately I had no other way but to ask for the money back, the older boys did not want to watch a kiddies movie and I had no where to go with the eight year old.

It was the first time ever that I have seen an age restriction enforced at a movie. I have watched dozens of movies at Cape Gate and Tygervalley with an age restriction of 13 with both my kids.

Yes, the manager was only doing her job, but even the girl behind the counter and the refreshment lady were astonished. The tried to talk the manager into letting us in.

The almost empty cinema lost another R500
