Good day. I would like to share my frustration and utter disgust with Ster Kinekor Cape Gate. I booked and paid for four (4) IMAX tickets at a cost of R1266.00 for myself and my boys to see the new Indiana Jones movie. From the start upon arrival, nothing was said to us about an age restriction. As the parent, I felt it was my DISCRETION to allow my boys to watch the movie and not Ster Kinekor's decision. When we passed through to enter, we were turned away and were told my boys were not allowed in as they were too young. FIRSTLY, Why was this not mentioned when our tickets were scanned on arrival and they saw the youngsters who are aged 13 soon to be 14..... and SECONDLY, Why say we can let you through and say "we never saw anything ..... and enjoy the Spiderman movie" and then he called the manager??? Their ages were asked and we were told we could all go and see the Spiderman movie. We arranged that we get refunded and all go see the Spiderman movie. Making our way to the Spiderman entrance we were turned away again by the same manager who this time said my youngest son was not allowed to enter. Talk about double standards!! The manager mentioned that he didn't want to lose business as the IMAX for Indiana Jones was empty but that there were strict policies in place. We were all referred to the refund counter and were under the impression that they were going to allow us to watch either Spiderman. Another gentleman at the refund counter told us he was going to refund my money back......and that after we had already eaten of our combos. The monies have not reflected and we couldn't do anything else for the rest of the day. It was embarrassing standing there with our combos not knowing what was actually going on. People were staring at us as if we had done something wrong. A planned afternoon of excitement, ended up with very upset children. I dont often spare money to take my children to the movies. Today was supposed to be a treat. Well the only treat was the combos we left with!!!!!! I will definately be taking this further!
