Poor Customer Service at Ster Kinekor Cavindish

1 month ago, I went to Ster Kinekor Cavendish to watch Black Panther (3D). It was the second Saturday in April, and think it was the 5pm or 8pm show.

The door for the cinema was open and we could hear a lot of noise coming from outside while we were trying to watch the movie, I went outside and could find no one to close the doors. I struggled to close the door, no one came to assist me. Then I pulled the door and pressed down the built in door stopper and cut my right thumb and split the nail at the base of the finger.

Blood poured down my finger and I was in so much pain, I went an found a Ster Kinekor employee, who was very sweet and helpful. She took me down to the manager's office which was empty. No manager came or was called, the first aid kit was poorly packed and was locked. A first kit should never be locked. The employee although very sweet was ***********, she tried to tear the bandage with her teeth and also never attempted to clean the wound first. She had no idea what she was doing and I had to guide through the entire process.

She asked for my contact details, still to this day I have received no communication, apology or follow up.

I have spoken to the management, I have called customer service several times and no effort to compensate my traumatic experience has been made. The management keep telling me they have have forwarded to their claims department and someone will be in touch. It's been three weeks.

The customer care line, after 3 weeks offered me 1 free ticket but I must pay R3.50 booking fee for it. I feel like this is a huge slap in the face and I am incredibly angry with their lack of customer service and empathy.

I have been a regular customer for years and yet I was treated so poorly.

My hand and thumb nail were badly injured and caused me a lot of pain. It hurt to type at work, to turn my steering wheel to drive, to wash my hair, to carry shopping parcels etc.

In this time, I had no follow through or formal apology from Ster Kinekor. I am still waiting.
