Not Worth it anymoer
i went to go see a movie at the Cape Gate centre last night. Normally we have dinner before the movie and rarely buy anything from the kiosk. Popcorn and a cooldrink has always been a bit expensive, but i was shocked last night to pay R38 for two small packets of wine gums. How on earth can you charge a person R19 per packet of something that is sold at a normal grocery store for a mere R5-7 per packet, and this is including their mark up?

The cinema business model is not the same as retail supermarkets and has different cost structures andcustomer satisfaction strategies.
Our operation overheads are higher than retail due to capacity of theatre space, also we do meet thesupplier requirement on volumes to get the same costs offered to retail supermarkets.
With the small range we carry at our cinema concessions counters - we ensure that we invest back intocustomer experience, as our customers are important to us. This in turn enables us to deliver on ourbrand promise of GREAT MOMENTS AT THEIR GREATEST.
