Missing item

Hi. I'm a regular at the movies. I go probably every second weekend or so, depending on what's showing. Last Sunday my friend and I went to Hudson's for dinner, after which we headed to Cavendish to watch Everest. I didn't finish my food at Hudson's, so I got it to go. When I went to movies, before entering the theatre, the girl who took our tickets said I'm not allowed to go in with my package of leftover food I had in my hands. I said okay and handed it to her to keep aside. She put it one side and I went in. When the movie ended, I came out to find that it was gone and there were no staff members around. Everyone had already left. It was around 22:30, as we watched the 20:15 show. <br> Do I get compensated somehow for the loss of my half burger, fries and onion rings? I know it was only leftovers, but it was still a loss of something I paid for. If I had my backpack with me, I could have kept it in there and no one would have questioned me. Its only because it was seen in my hands that I had to give it in. So what happens now?
