HAD TO SHARE A SEAT

I dropped my kids at the cinema on Tuesday evening to watch Avengers Endgame. I bought the tickets online but for some reason the scanner wasn't scanning the tickets, so the lady let us in. I went in to help them flavour their popcorn and then went back out.

When I went to fetch my kids they told me they had to share a seat. My youngest sat on his knees for almost 3 hours. I went to the counter, requesting a refund for one ticket. The assistant asked for my ticket and went to the back to chat to the manager. She told me he said we can't get a refund for one ticket since they both watched the movie.

I saw the manager walk out of the office, taking EXTRA CHAIRS INTO THE CINEMA.

I followed him and told him to address this issue. He told me that my kids had to come out of the cinema DURING the movie and come and tell someone they don't have a seat. Due to the fact that they did not come out and report it DURING THE MOVIE, they have to pay full.

This is totally unacceptable. If I could walk in without a ticket, surely other people did to. Also, why was he taking extra chairs into the cinema. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, why did my kids have to share a chair. And why do they have to leave the cinema and MISS THE MOVIE to report something you should control. Why book seats?! Just sit anywhere.

What would have happened. Would you have stopped the movie and asked everyone for their tickets?

The managers name is Lloyd Dzuda. He did not want to give me his full name. The staff at the service counter gave it to me. He made no attempt to resolve the issue. He didn't ask my name or details OR EVEN APOLOGIZE. He lacks BASIC management s****s.

It's totally unacceptable to pay R120 and have to sit on the floor.

I submitted a complaint via Ster Kinekor's Customer care email on Tuesday evening, the 30th of April and have not received any feedback. It appears the lack of customer care is part and parcel of the culture of the company.
