Disappointing service

Yesterday Sunday 25 February 2018 I went to Sterkinekor Mall@Carnival to purchase tickets for Black Panther buying 2 adult tickets and 2 for kids . Upon arriving at the popcorn desk with the kids excited the lady behind the desk asked me the age of my daughter and I said 6 . She then told me after I purchased the tickets earlier the day that my daughter is not allowed in the movie . My husband then explained that we are there as parental guidance . Another lady approached and asked the lady in zulu if we are stupid because the child is 6 and the movie states 10-12 PG .

After my daughter crying we decided not to be handled as if we are total “stupid people as per the lady we asked for a refund and left to go to Carnival city to watch another movie .

To my astonishment there was no movie for my 6 year old to watch , as the animation movies even has a age restriction of 10 PG and according to the fpb law she is not allowed in even with us there . So once again we had to explain to her that she is not allowed to watch a movie even though it is animation .

It is really sad that first of all we were handled like “stupid” parents by the two ladies at Mall@Carnival and then noticing that a family movie night will never be a good idea for an outing for people with younger kids because if they let us in with our 6 year old they will loose their jobs and the cinema will be closed down . So there is absolutely no way kids under the age of 10 will experience movie nights at sterkinekor anymore .
