Black Panther
Last week, my boyfriend and I had booked to watch the 8pm show for Black Panther at Forrest Hill City. After work (between 17:30 and 18:00), I decided to stop by Forrest Hill for a few things when I noticed that there was no electricity. I immediately walked to the Ster-Kinekor to find out what would happen to the movie we booked. Greeted by an employee with "we're not showing any movies" as I walked in, I then asked what the alternative is. She proceeded to tell me the electricity had been off since the morning and they are not sure as to whether they will be showing movies anytime soon. She advised we make an alternative plan...I frantically searched for another show and luckily booked the last seats at Irene mall. This past Sunday, I go back to the cinema and explain my story to the manager, politely asking if we could use the unused tickets for another movie. His response to me was "Sorry, the movie has passed. There is nothing I can do". This after they advised us to make an alternative plan. I honestly do not think that it is fair we are not reimbursed for our movie - or atleast given then option to watch something else (which is what the employee I spoke to on Friday told me). I really don't feel as though the manager took my concerns seriously and he wasn't really keen to help me or sympathetic to what I was saying. This did not make me feel like a valuable customer
