BAYSIDE CENTRE STER KINEKOR COMPLAINT FALSE ACCUSED YOUNG BOYS

28 May 2022 The evening at Bayside Mall Ster Kinekor. Please see below: I took my son and his 2 x friends to book for the Top Gun movie. My friend Zoe Le Roux stood with the 3 teenage boys and made the booking for the 16h45pm show (Zoe paid for her son and my son Joshua Franco paid for himself and still had proof of payment on his cellphone total of R164.00)

They then sat outside the cinema for a bit on the couches as they were early. When the time drew nearer they all walked to the kiosk for the snacks that were ordered with the movie. Zoe then stood with the 3 boys in the line while their tickets got scanned and they walked into cinema 8 for the movie.

Zoe received a call from her son an hour into the movie to say that him and his friends were asked to leave the cinema as they had no paid to be there. The boys unfortunately threw their tickets into the bin as they walked into cinema 8 so were not able to show them (the bin was empty when they went to check for them). However as Booking is done via card we have the messages from the bank to confirm receipt.

Zoe arrived shortly after receiving the call from her son, and approached Neo and Zandile Mebane. Zoe asked what happened and why the boys were asked to leave the cinema, and got told they didn't pay to be there. My son Joshua then showed the proof of payment and my son told me that they still did not believe him and made him out to be a **** which infuriates me. My 15 year old went on to explain that he got so upset as he has never **** and the fact he was told to leave made him feel with his friends victimized. Zoe then told them she has the message from her bank but they did not want to see it. Why?

Zoe says she asked why tickets were checked mid way through the movie as this seemed strange, and Neo noted that the boys had made some noise and he had asked them to step out and show their tickets. Zoe asked why tickets were requested when the complaint was for noise, but no reasonable answer was given. It was as if the boys were singled out.

Neo spoke over and above me whilst Zoe was trying to figure out what happened. Zandile shook her shoulders and kept saying Haibo!

Zoe told Neo that she wanted answers from Zandile as she was the one who accused the boys of not paying but he said she is his colleague and he is backing her up. This is not acceptable behaviour, not one apology was given - absolutely zero. Simply - Haibo!

Neo then proceeded to say that he told the boys they could return to watch the movie, however they did not want to after being accused of not paying, I cannot speak for my friends children but as a mother that has been in a situation of been victimized and accused I for one know what an impact it causes on ones self esteem and it lives with you. So you better be very sure before accusing someone never mind young white boys. My son has not stopped talking about the day in question he feels they were being ****** to him as being a young white boy showing them his proof of payment which clearly states Ster kinekor on the purchase receipt and the amount they proceeded to continue making him and his two friends our like untruthful *******. He is so traumatized by what developed that he know longer wants to go back to that cinema or the mall.

Our kids use to go see movies almost every 2nd weekend at this cinema. Very disappointing, disturbing experience
