Bad management and unsatisfactory experience.

I went to see Deadpool 2 last night (25/05/2018). During the previews, the sound was very loud. Like way way too loud. The picture was also not aligned properly, as made evident from the missing text on the right and left sides of the screen. And the screen canvas is old and deteriorated, as made evident by sh*tty lines all tver the thing.

I thought this was the 21st century. Then I remembered that I live in South Africa. So when I went to complain, my expectations were not high. But I gave it a shot any way.

The first time, I found two guys F-ing around by the do-it-yourself ticket things. They took some persuading, but eventually said that they'd do something. A few trailers later, and it was still too loud. Everyone was complaining in the cinema....

So I went a second time, now more frustrated at the ver-lowering standards of service in South Africa (always in decline, and way past bottom). Unbeknownst to me at the time, my second complaint was directly to the cinema manger, who had just finished taking ticket stubs. He needed even more persuading, so he followed me into the cinema. He pretty much ignored the sound issue, and didn't believe that the screen was misaligned. So eventually some text credits appeared on the screen. Then the F-er believed me!!!

That manager basically told me just to suck it up until the movie starts. That is completely unacceptable! For the outrageous cost of movies these days, I expect to be delivered comfort! Not delivered with bad management and forced to tolerate inhospitable conditions because some fool doesn't know how to do his job properly!

After the movie, I coincidentally walked past the manager's office, so I confronted the two that were in there, asking them why they didn't fix the issue. They basically just laughed it off - I know that they don't care about their customers. After receiving some badly phrased insults - I left.

I hope that staff are better trained and that those managers are disciplined for their ill performance and bad attitude- But I doubt it.
