Accident claim
In July 2021 I was involved in an accident I nyanga location in Cape Town. A guy who was driving a Toyota bakkie of a security company did not stop at a stop sign and drove into my Nissan grand lavina car on the left side. We reported the case at the police station. The security company called their insurance company to organize breakdown for their bakkie. I spoke to the manager of the over the phone and told him that his driver drove into me and my car can't drive as well and I also need a breakdown to move my car because I don't have a insurance for my car because I am not working because of COVID 19. My car was my only source of income by driving school transport with my car. The manager told me he is going to contact his insurance and come back to me. He called me back and told me that his insurance says I must pay the breakdown myself and claim afterwards. I told them I am not working where must I get money to pay the breakdown and they told me that's how they work. I had to borrow money from the money landers. After a week without a car I went to the company offices and I was told to get a quote and foward it to them. I had to pay R350 for the quote at panel beater and forwarded it. They told me they forwarded it to the insurance company and I must contact the insurance company which is Step insurance. I did contact the company two weeks back and i was told I need to have 3 quotes and I told them that I have to pay for the quotes and I don't have money to pay because I not working and they told me that's how it works. I told them someone bumped my car and he didn't stop at a stop sign and he is admitting and now I can't get my car fixed because I don't have money to pay for the 3 quotes.
