Steers Ventersdorp - Horrible, DO NOT RECOMMEND

Finally, after one of the longest drives with our move to the North West I have a moment to share with you the level of difficulty this road trip brought.

We have been moving our stuff slowly by vehicle from Pretoria to Delareyville. We use the Venterdorp road and decided to stop at Steers Ventersdorp for breakfast just past 7.

We have ordered from there a few times before while making these trips up and down so we expected everything to go well. There have been a time or two where the food and service was great. Today though, was the complete opposite.

Firstly, I ordered the food, which the ladies supposed to be working in the back were more on their phones than anything else. Mind you I was their second customer for the day so far as seen in the video.

I ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes as per usual. To receive at first only the burgers of the two meals I bought. I proceed to ask the lady behind the counter where my chips could be. She apologizes, telling me it would be right out. Another 18 minutes later I finally got my chips. I ended up taking it to the car for me and my husband to now dig in, just to find that every chip of about the 4 or 5 chips we ate at first were raw. I am talking about the crunch you have when cutting into a raw potato with the heat radiating off it like that of being baked in a microwave oven for about a year.

I end up taking it back and asking the lady, politely, might I add, to recook it as it is raw. And it seemed it took a lot of effort to just do that, where after I now sit and wait for the chips as I am assuming it shouldn't take long, maybe a minute or two in the fryer. There was a lot of screaming and banging in the back, but I wanted what I damn well paid R180 for.

ANOTHER 15 MINUTES LATER!!! I am fuming at this point, I am legit the only customer there, as all the other customers are told that it would take upwards of 30 minutes for them to start with an order. To have the chips finally put under the hotplate. Now the lady that was banging with an attitude in the back hands me one of the packets and tells me to taste them there at the front desk "to check if I like them now".

I said straight, there is no way in hell I'm scolding my mouth with hot, oily chips. I told her i will try it in the car after it had time to cool down because , Lord knows, its just ****ing chips right? What could go wrong?

Let me tell you, another ****ing batch of chips that tasted even more raw than the first batch.

This is when I started the video, now look I'm normally not one to complain. Things happen, I get it. But to have the same, reoccurring mistakes happen, due to what I presume to be negligence due to being preoccupied with the phone with the bright pink cover the whole time. I mean I would also struggle to think and get things right with my personal phone stuck to every staff member's ear, (Check your CCTV footage from 7:06 to 7:40 for verification) but honestly, Steers Ventersdorp, you will never see me again. Your service is pathetic, your food is distasteful and your staff members are up to ****!

I would've received better service from a street rat than from your so-called establishment.
