Steers Tygervalley Complaint

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to complain of the poor service I received from your company on the 4th of August, 2019. I visited one of your stores, Steers -Tygervalley and want to inform you about the inappropriate behaviour of the cashier and store manager.

I had made a purchase at your store, Amounting to R418. 00. Suppose to be lunch for 6 people – My family, who I have taken out for the day. After waiting for relatively long, I received my order. Please note: I am not angry for the waiting time, as I know good food takes time. We received our order, went to the tables to go sit and eat only to realise that we have not received the Juice and that one soda was missing. I went to the cashier to query about the deficiencies. Without an apology, she went to go get the juice. On questioning her about the other soda, she informed me that I have only ordered 5. I informed her that it is not accurate, she repeated my order before ringing off and I still told her its two of everything and that the one Soda I wanted to change for a juice to which she responded I cannot, hence the purchase that of the juice as an extra.

I got infuriated that I wasted my time with this cashier, who clearly was not proficient in Customer Service – “to listen to the customer”, instead she argued with me that I was wrong. I believe in human error and that it can be resolved, but clearly not in this instance as your cashier just aggravated me more. I asked to speak to the store manager and he could not even assist to remedy the wrong. After a squabble, I went back to the table, grab the food and took it back to the counter and told her to refund me. For this too I have to wait a few minutes as she and the manager first had a conversation in their language – to which I feel insulted as the concern involved me and they could have shown some courteousness to speak English So I could understand. Now you can, I am sure envisaged the anger that grew in me as I have children that was rather very hungry already and here these two clearly is wasting my time, so yes, I bawled and asked that they just give me back my money. The cashier opened her till and shoved the money on the counter. No apology, no nothing. No attempt to remedy the matter with a simple apology.

Such volatile behaviour not only claims the rights of consumers, but also basic ethical and moral standards as well. This attitude discredits the company in the eyes of buyers and is unacceptable. I am a regular customer to a few of your stores, Debonairs, Steers, Milky lane, etc. and fail now to see how after this experience, continue to do business with any of your stores, as this problem made me feel so trivial and as one of your loyal customers. I am extremely disheartened.

Please, take appropriate measures against the cashier and manager to avoid such situations of re occurring. Customer Service! You may discuss this further with me at any time at ***.

In conclusion, I essentially need to say, for lunch my family had to be forced to enjoy King Pie lunch instead of the planned Steers Burgers, a first, yet enjoyable as I enjoyed their fries.
