Steers dismissive culture
I placed an on line order for steers on 1 April 2026 at approximately 18HOO and ordered 3 wacky wednesday specials and 2 large chips. The order was placed with the Edenglen branch. The lady confirmed my order and confirmed the amount to be paid which was R300 odd. The food arrived and all was well until i opened the packets and found 5 large chips and 12 burgers. When i checked how much i tapped with my card it was over R700.00. I called the number that i ordered the food on and explained the problem. First thing that they said is that the order was correct and would not listen to me. I insisted in speaking to some one who will hear me. Someone called me back at about 20h00 and assisted me. He confirmed that i was correct and arranged with the branch manager to collect the excess food and pay back the balance. I was happy with the outcome.
From this point the wheels fall off!
I was told by the branch manager that they will send for the excess food that evening and refund me the next day (02/04/2026).
I waited up until 22H30 that evening for someone to collect the food. This did not happen. The food was never collected and i ended up throwing it away!
The following day no one contacted me or refunded the amount agreed. I am still waiting for my refund and today is the 24/04/2026. I feel that i have been extremely patient and understanding!
I have been onto Steers official website and sent 2 messages explaining the issue and requesting a refund. To this day, i have had no response from them!
I find this behavior disgusting and tantamount to *****.
I was a regular supporter of the franchise but because of this i will never support steers again and and advise every one that i know to do the same.
I hope that this review reaches some one at steers who can make a difference and change the dismissive culture that has been allowed to grow at steers
You did wrong and had an opportunity to fix it but catastrophically destroyed it! WELL DONE!
