Non delivery of service

On the 30th of November 2017 did we order from Steers Secunda, the order received reference number Reference: # 6702-282 and was placed at 19:48 the evening.

It must be noted that on this evening did it rain tremendously and therefore nothing but reasonable to expect delays in delivery. The food was delivered round about a hour after delivery in which the delivery personnel indicated to us that the delay was due to the inclement weather and did Steers Secunda decide to change the delivery motorcycles to vehicles for obvious reasons.

We thank the delivery personnel and gave him a generous tip for his service in this weather conditions after indicating that it is understood why the delivery was late.

On the 2nd of December 2017 under reference number Reference: # 6702-292 at 12: 06 the afternoon did we order again from Steers Secunda, this time, was it a Sunny day with no apparent weather conditions.

At approximately 13:07 the afternoon of the 2nd Of December 2017 did we contact Steers Secunda due to the fact that the order did not arrive, an hour after delivery, it must be noted that Steers Secunda did not telephone us at all indicating a delay in service due to demand and/or any other reasons for the delay of delivery.

After the conversation with the store manager did we demand to have the telephone number of the Franchisee ("owner") in order to complain and did the store provide us with the requested number.

At approximately 13: 10 the afternoon did writer contact the owner and stated to the owner that the delivery is more than an hour late demanding an answer, the owner apologized and indicated that he will find out and contact me back, true to his word did he contacted writer indicating that the service demand was high but the food is on its way, the call was placed to me at approximately 13:20 the afternoon of the 2nd of December 2017, in fact, the owner placed in 2 (two) deserts as a token of his bona fida's for free.

The food arrived at approximately 13: 26 the afternoon on the 2nd of December 2017 some one hour and six minutes after the order was placed and received by the store bearing the following in mind namely:

1. Steers policy (Legal) found on the official "steers" website state the following at paragraph 1.4: "Customer care is extremely important to YUMBI......" further more at paragraph 3.3 of the same document it is stated: "In the event that you have a complaint about the quality of food or service provided by the restaurants on this website then complaints must be lodged initially with the restaurant."

2. Steer Secunda did at no stage contact us and/or attempted to contact us prior to the complaint to the owner with the purpose and intent to explain any delay in service, yet, it is clear from the order placed on the 30th of November 2017 that Steers Secunda employees are well aware of the fact to communicate with the consumer in order to live up to the Values of steers and/or Yumbi indicating that "costumer care is very important to us" same proven by the conduct of the employee/delivery as described above.

3. We needed to telephone Steers Secunda in order to inquire into our food order whereas the manager for Steers Secunda on the 2nd of December 2017 only indicate that the food is on the way and neglected and/or refused to explain the delay in delivery to us and/or the approximate time of delivery, these questions posed to the manager of Steers Secunda after we, the customer/consumer needed to inquire into an order/service provided for and/or portrays by Steers Secunda to potentially provide to the public.

4. After no success was reached with the store in inquiring into the order it took us to telephone the owner in order to get answers once again resulting in nothing else than the fact that the consumer must argue and fight with the provider in order for the provider to live up to its own standards and provide the service in total as what the provider portray itself to can provide to the consumer, notwithstanding the fact that the actions of of Steers Secunda in totality made the concept of "online order" futile in that multiple telephone calls became the order of the day to ensure specific performance by the provider - Steers Secunda.

5. After the above was said and done, and after the order arrived at its delivery destination did we check the food in front of the delivery person as witness and found that the order was (a) cold including the fries, I can not speak for any other person but I hate cold fries and/or re-heating fries, therefore, Steers Secunda once again repudiated the agreement between myself and the store to deliver a product suitable and likable to my standard as offered by Steers Secunda (b) regardless of the written instruction that the steak must be medium to rare, did Steers Secunda see it fit to provide our Steak roll which was well done yet another repudiation of the agreement between myself and Steers Secunda and in my opinion a statement from steers saying that Steers Secunda, regardless of the order will prepare and deliver the order that I placed to their liking and time frame yet expect us to pay for these services. I reiterate the position that the delivery personnel was standing next to us whilst checking the food and did we show the delivery personnel that the food is cold and incorrect order was prepared.

after the above took place did we indicate to the delivery personnel that we do not intent to pay for these items and left the delivery personnel in order to get the telephone to phone the owner and ONCE AGAIN needed to complain, argue and fight for a service that we actually needed to pay for.

By the time that I came back, the delivery personnel left without taking the order/food with them.

I contacted the owner of Steers Secunda via sms at 13:31 on the 2nd of December 2017 indicating tat he must please (actual word used) come and take the food due to the fact that the order was incorrect and whereas we have indicated to take this matter up with Steers Head Office the cumming Monday.

We have received no reply for the owner and needed to contact Steers Secunda again in order to make our position clear that we did indicate to the delivery personnel that the order is incorrect and did we made it clear to the delivery personnel and the owner of Steers Secunda that we will not pay for the food and that Steers Secunda must removed the incorrect order from us in order not to have any liability for payment.

We then ordered food from another restaurant and continued with our day, at approximately 14:07, now 2 (two) hours and one minute past the time that the original order was placed, the delivery personnel of steers arrived with a steak roll freshly prepared and demanded payment, we refused to accept the order/food and indicated to the delivery personnel that we will not pay and/or have anything to do with any further order and/or delivery from Steers Secunda on that day, I explicitly indicated to the delivery personnel to wait and to take the incorrect order with him whilst turning to the kitchen to fetch the order, previously left, once I returned the delivery personnel left our premises once again without taking the incorrect order with them.

At 20:42 on the 2nd of December the owner of Steers Secunda sent me a sms indicating his regret and (AGAIN A PROMISE) that the matter will be resolved the Monday. Needless to say that the matter was not resolved as indicated by the owner.

I want to make it clear that the events described above is not an inflated version of the truth but rather the exact thoughts, emotions and manner in which this situation unfolded leaving the consumer once again out of pocket by means of time effort and yes monies for example telephone calls and sms, it does not matter how insignificant the financial losses where, the point remain that such losses, in general, was of direct cause of Steers Secunda the incompetence of the Staff and failure to act in terms of Steers morals and values.

So it comes to the 14th of December 2017, at home the children begged for steers after seeing a commercial on T.V at the exact time that we asked the youngsters what they would like for lunce, the words simultaneously out of their months "STEERS"

So it began again on the 14th of December 2017 at 11:41 the morning with Reference: # 6702-345 did I order online, however, with the previous incident still very fresh in my mind and with the time constrains involved in that the youngster where to leave on a camping trip at 12:30 I explicitly stated that on the order that in the vent that the order is not delivered within 30 (Thirty) minutes form acceptance of the order will we not accept the order and/or pay therefore, I even took pictures of the order and sent it to the owner of Steers Secunda via Whatsapp indicating that I hope that this time will we not encounter a problem. The owner read the message at 11:47 without reply.

Approximately at 12:10 on date hereof did we look at the time and once again realized that the order will not arrive and did we not receive any sort of communication from Steers Secunda indicating that the time frame is to short due to demand or any other excuses therefore we whipped up some sandwiches for the youngsters in order to feed them before there departure and left the matter as is, vowing that I will take this complete lack of service to social media and Hello Peter.

At 12:15 did I received a call from Steers Secunda indicating to me that they would like to confirm my drinks order, I stated to the lady whether she has read the comment that I left at the time that I made the order, she rep**** by saying "yes" and stated "now I am phoning to confirm the drinks order" I interrupted her and stated again "did you read the comment that I placed at the time of the order" once again she rep**** yes and tried to confirm the drinks order, I interrupted her again in stating that the time has passed and wanted to now where the delivery personnel was, she indicated that the delivery personnel "was on their way" at that point did I realize that she is lying to me in that (a) how do you confirm drinks whilst the delivery personnel already left?

Instead of arguing did I terminate the call and did I sent the owner a whatsapp indicating that a problem once again persisted in this order and that we will take this to the media and hello peter.

The same modus operandi followed a lot of telephone calls coming in from the owner which I ignored in order not to have a repeat of the last scenario the entire day, the owner even rep**** to me via whatsapp indicating that my order is now on its way, the time was at 12:24 the afternoon whereas the lady at Steers Secunda already indicated that "they are on the way" at 12:15 some nine minutes before the owner stated that they are indeed on their way.

It is clear that Secunda Steers does not put the consumer/customer first and will resort to lying in order to make a quick buck.

The youngster left at 12:27 and did we decide to continue with our day. at 12:34 did I receive a call from the delivery personnel indicating that he is at the gate for the delivery, I asked him whether he has read the comment on the order placed by me whereas he indicated yes I told him that the time is gone and that we once again waited 6 minutes short of an hour for the delivery and where we once again **** to, the delivery personnel did not think must of my comment indicating that "I am here now and you must open the gate" I said to him that I "MUST" do nothing and that he should leave immediately, we did not want a repast of food left in the premises in which we then struggle 2 (two) to 3(three) hours to remove accompanied with multiple telephone calls.

It is therefore my opinion and views that Steers can not be trusted, that they will operate on their own time and prepare food to their liking, will have significant delays and will refuse to communicate with you, regardless of you taking the "complaint" up with the store, will you be brushed off and will Steers attempt to force you to accept food, incorrectly prepared and force you to pay for it, notwithstanding the fact that Steers will result to lying in attempt to deceive the customer in order for them to profit.

I wish for Hello Peter to forward and post this article/complaint/review to steers and any other person deems fit and proper by Hello Peter in an attempt for Steers to answer hereupon publicly.
