How are they still open?

Friday the 16th my wife and I went to Steers and Fish Aways in Flamwood Klerskdorp at 11:30am, we walked into an empty store with no other customers yet and the staff were packing cooldrinks into a virtualy empty fridge ( which means we would now get warm cooldrinks with our order )and cleaning the store. On the front counter lay two buns and an energy drink which was the breakfast of one of the cashiers, staff do not eat in the place of work it does not look professional!

No one greeted us and the staff continued to talk to each other while we stood and looked at the menu, still not having acknowledged my presence in the store and with a blank expression on her face I eventually placed my order - no please or thank you from her either. My wife went over to the Fish Aways counter and placed her order, while we sat there waiting for the orders to be processed the telephone rang over and over and over with nobody even trying to attempt to answer the phone. The phone was eventually answered after the caller had tried 4 or 5 times unsuccessfully to get through.

I was called to collect my order and noticed that the chips were not the same Steers chips I know and inquired if Steers had changed its chips, "no", was the answer, " these are Fish Aways chips". I told the cashier in an irritated tone that I do not want Fish Away chips I want the Steers chips I know and enjoy to which she rep**** that they were still peeling potatoes and had no Steers chips ready, "it's 11:30 how can you not be ready to trade properly?"

From the kitchen a man came ( Jerome Peterse )and told me that they opened at 10am and it is a public holiday to which I rep**** that that was no excuse for the extremely poor service that was being dished out to me and he mumbled some incoherant irritations at me.

If your business opens at 10am you must be ready at 10am to trade properly! Your store must be properly staffed with friendly competant staff, products packed and ready to sell and the store should have been cleaned.

So I tell the cashier to make me Steers chips which I waited for for about 5 min, I go over to the sauce dispencers and the tip of the nozzle is caked in dried out barbeque sauce. I clean the nozzle and push the plunger down but the container is empty - 11:30 in the morning and the store is in shambles!

At this point I lose it and give all the staff a piece of my mind about the horrific standard on offer and that I was going to report them to Steers head office. We walk out and they start laughing and talking to each other in their home language, obviously about me!

We get home and Fish Aways has put packets of Steers sauce in with the Fish Aways products- the proverbial cherry on the cake!

This store will never see my money again and if Steers SA does not intervene as a matter of urgency, that store will do serious damage to the brands name !
