Hand-cut chips at Steers

Just to get a bit of clarity on a few things, Is there a reason that no one operates with hand gloves at the Steers in Parow Centre, is it okay for the guys to start eating from this very food right in front of us, touching chips with their bare hands? I know Steers prides itself with hand-cut chips but aren't you guys taking it a little too far?
