Chicken is Chicken is Chicken

So I went to Steers Eden Meadows to order lunch for myself and my friend who was bogged down at work. I asked for 2 quarter chickens. 1 hot and 1 lemon and herb. I then asked for chips and a roll for one meal and a colddrink for the other meal. The lady at the till then rings up the order, i ask her if she can make them leg portions. She then tells me that she can't give me 2 leg portions, the other needs to be a breast poriton. In shock i tell her that i need them to both be leg portions for a reason. She then tells me its not allowed. I then asked her to cancel the order and just give me 1 quarter chicken, with chips which she gladly did.

I would like to understand why this has happened. Surely chicken is chicken is chicken. I'm paying for it, its not like i am *****ing it. People have preferences and as a service provider you are expected to accommodate those preferences. Was it really worth it to lose out on making a bigger sale just so that you can save your leg portions so that they can go around to more people?
